i have no sound on any internet sites, and my games dont have certain sounds. for example, any FPS game has no gun sounds. how can i adjust these or find out what i need to update? i already messed w/ the settings in the games, that wasnt the problem.

i have onboard sound on an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard (sorry if that's too much info). the sound card is ADI AD1988B. it's 8 channels.
