Hi, Im tired of formating and reinstalling windows vista when I run into serious problems. I thought I could backup installed programs and my entire windows "profile" with partitionmagic but I dont think it works on vista.
Can someone tell me of a program that will allow me to put in a cd and boot from it to access windows vista with all my programs and drivers installed?

I just recently had to reinstall windows from scratch and reinstall everything and Im tired of doing that.

You want to set everything up from scratch exactly how you want it, then use an image utility and make a system image of your set up with all programs and stuff you want on there by default.

Then if you want to, you can back that image up to say multiple DVD disks and boot off them and wipe and reload back to that image point.

The easiest one out there to use is Norton Ghost, so check into that.

Hi, Im using norton ghost.

I set up everything how I want it. I did a backup of my c drive onto my d drive.

I would like to know how I can create a cd or dvd that I can boot from that willl allow me to access that backup and copy it back onto my c drive in the case of a computer crash.
