how do i build a mac pc

It is illegal to install Mac OSX on anything besides a mac, so you cannot legally install it on PCs.

And as for buying a retail mac or building a PC, how much do you want to spend? I would suggest building a PC unless your sister has her mind set of Final Cut Pro, and refuses to use Adobe Premier Pro.

Not to get off topic again... but I think it's funny how you want to use two programs (after effects and premiere pro) in this "challenge" and yet he would only be able to use Final Cut... he would still win ha

back on topic, you CAN build a Mac computer. But the only way is to find an online store, or use ebay, to get used and refurbished Mac parts. You can't buy Mac parts like you can PC parts because Mac doesn't sell them individually and Mac is the only company making Mac parts.

I wonder if you know that those are illegal...

Their not illegal yet, a court case is pending to determine that.

I personally think removing the monopoly that Apple has would help the very highly priced Mac's come down to a more realistic price, which in turn would allow more people to afford mac's (or mac clones), I also believe most PC users would go over to mac's as they allow you to run all operating systems on them.

I think it does directly violate EULA sooo it is illegal, not to mention most people download a pre-patched version of Leopard which means they are paying nothing for the OS which definitely makes it illegal.

I love the biased argument of mac and windows here.

Fact is, its preference. One isnt really all too better than the other. Ive been using Macs for over about 10 years now, since I was kid, games, editing, everything. Everything I can do on the mac, I can do with windows. Everything I can do on windows I can do on the mac. Im not much of a gamer, so I wont bring that into the mix.

Audio is the same, as it really depends on the program, and the setup. I can have cubase running, record with it, edit, master, all that fun stuff and have it sounding great. Now I can go over to the mac, record, do the same thing, and its going to sound the same.

Its all prefrence. Just like Pepsi and Coke. :P

Ive given up with building macs years ago, which was when macs were truely the oddbal system that where really a small niche. If you want to go mac, its going to be easier to just buy a new one, pre-built.

Or in my case, some cheap generic-brand cola :P It still tastes good, though. But that's just about as true as it can get. I don't like Macs because I, quite frankly, find the logo - a massive glowing apple that always catches your eye - rather childish, and it really doesn't appeal to me. Again, this is just my opinion... it's all a matter of preference.
