How do I change my boot-up programs?

My PC has been booting up very slowly, I have a fast computer so this is kind of odd. I was wondering how do I change what programs open on boot-up? I'd like to turn a bunch off, so boot-up doesn't take as long.

Also, if there is any programs that can speed up boot-up, that would be good as well.

Thanks.

If you have have windows XP then click on Start, then go to Run, then type in msconfig

From there you can gchose whichservices and which startup programs satrt up at boot time.

If you have windows 95, or 2000 then do a yahoo search on Windows [insert version here] Msconfig and you should come up with results that will give you a file to download with intructions to make it work.

Why has everybody gotten so confrontational lately.

Why does it matter that armpit posted that? All he was trying to do was give the guy a little more insight. And last time I check thats what this and most forums are for.

I am in complete agreement. This is not a boxing ring, but a place where problems might get solved.

There is a reason why apj101 told him to google it with a little hint :)

There is a reason why I posted that, so he didn't have to gogole it since they are simple directions, if you have windows XP, and more people have windows XP then not.

Why does everyone have to hijack peoples threads? PM next time... Or help.

Anywho, you can use msconfig in start>>run>>msconfig>>Startup tab.
