So far i have put the hard drive into the case and connect those cords. Then i connected it to the power source. After that i connected the usb cord from the external into my computer. After that i connected the E-sata from the external to my computer.

After i turned on the external its light went on and it started spinning but there is nothing that shows up on my computer.

I am using a cooler master external on windows vista operating system (62bit) Will i need some drivers? Is windows vista to advanced for the external? it says nothing about vista in the instuction manual only me/98/xp (does this even mater)

i am really confused please help.

thank you

What's the model of your Mobo? You may need to enable eSATA support in the BIOS.

The exter HD is a:
Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB 8.5MS 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM 3YR MFR Warranty

My mobo is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box

ahah oops lol here is the Mobo:
ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP ATX LGA775 P35 DDR2 1333FSB 2PCI-E16 3PCI 2PCI-E1 SATA2 Sound Motherboard

The new external HD

The manual that came with the new Ex.HD should tell what operating system and your systems requirements that are supported.
