I want to delete a cookie for a certain website, without touching the other cookies. What do I look for? I have IE 6 running on WinXP MCE. The reason for this is everytime I return to athewebsite, it automatically signs me in even though I signed out before. If it helps, here's the website address:

..Search in this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

the cookie name should be:

Cookie:YOUR USER NAME@www.thevboard.com/

Why don't you just delete all your cookies. Cookies are bad in most cases except when you eat them.

A cookie is a great way to store information on a client's machine for later use. Cookies are very useful. They save me a lot of time when I revisit a website.. such as Amazon! ..Yes, they are also used to track the sites you go to. But, if you are not going to "naughty" sites.. you have very little to worry about.. OLE, COM and other controls, on the other hand, can be misused and many times are...

Anyway, if chris0276 wants to just get rid of that one cookie, it should only take him a few minutes...

...See ya!

..as for the cookie being the only way that website knows you... I dont think so. :P ..most website either use your IP address or email address (or a combination) to ban you.

..as is the case with this forum.
