It depends on if you are getting an AMD processor or an Intel processor. If you are going with an AMD (which I recommend) the nForce series by nVidia works reall nicely. If you are going with an Intel, a high 8xx Intel Chipset or a 9xx chipset.

How about some specs for the other parts you are going to be using? I would highly recommend the NF4

The only reason I am opposed to the NF4 is that most motherboards who have the NF4 chipset only support PCIx. PCIx is great, however it is extremely expensive. If you don't have a whole lot of money, stick with AGP.

Not all pcie is expensive, expensiver, yes, but not REALLY expensive......

Granted yes but you're far better off with a NF3Ultra + AGP than NF4 + PCIe and arguably even NF4U+PCIe

still need help

Thank you all for your help.

But I still need to know how to chose a chipset for future computer buliding?
Also why is it so important to chose the right chipset?
What does the chipset determin the computer can do?
