I'm sure there are many programs out there, but I know that Spyware Doctor is a pretty solid one. However, it does tend to use up a lot of resources. The free version is fully functional and will scan your pc as well as protect it continuously against all kinds of spyware, keyloggers etc... However, if an infection is found during a scan, the only way to get rid of it is if you have the purchased version of SpywareDoctor. You can download it here: http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/

I'm sure other people can recommend other programs that they have personally used.

By the way, I highly recommend installing all of these 3 (they are totally free and won't use up much resources at all):
Spybot Search and Destroy
SpywareBlaster
Ad-Aware

In my opinion, those are standards and are a must-have along with an anti-virus and firewall program. Make sure you regularly update their databases to have the most current protection.

Other programs you can look at are:
a-squared
Ewido
