How do I erase data on my HDD???

Im getting new parts, CPU, mobo, SSD and need to erase my current drive that runs win7 32bit. when i get my parts i plan on installing win7 64bit on the SSD. Should I wipe it or erase the data so that i can use it again with my new parts, and also when?, should i do it after installing my new parts?
 
When you go to install Windows you can simply format the drive when it prompts asking where you want to install Windows.
 
During the install, when you get to the hardrive setup page. Just pick the new SSD, then click next. After its installed go to disk management pick the old drive and pick format.

But it's on the same drive....he should do what I said.
 
Yeah you can do that or just delete the partition leaving it unformatted. I have had better results avoiding issues with the install that way as it correctly places the reserved partition, however both should work fine.

okay just to clear things up. im getting the SSD and going to install win7 64 on it. the other drive that i still need has win7 32 on it. I need to erase all data so i can boot from the SSD and use the other for data storage. should I reformat it in windows already installed, or so it when installing windows?
 
Either way works. When you are installing windows, have both drives plugged in. It will ask which drive to install to. You can format the drive right there, or just install windows and then in windows, right-click the drive and click format.
