How do I get my Vista working again?

I recently looked at a guide to multi booting windows XP and Vista, with Vista installed first.

I made a new partition, backed up my files, and installed XP pro onto my 2nd partition.

Now, at this point I was supposed to take my vista recovery disk (didnt come with one so I burned it) and put it in so I can boot into vista and activate the multi booter. But it told me nothing was wrong, and refused to boot vista for me.

I am now on my xp, and I can access all my vista files, but cannot boot into it.

How can I solve this problem? I would use Boot.ini, but have no idea how to do that.

This might help

All you need is the Vista DVD Disk you computer came with, not a recovery disk

1.Boot from the Vista DVD
2.When you get prompted to install now go to repair
3.It'll search for your Vista partition and find it then go next and choose start-up repair
4.It'll fix the boot sector then reboot and it will let you go into Vista

Only prob now is you wont be able to boot into XP

If you still want to dual boot you can use a program like
http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

Once you've downloaded open it up, and go to Add an Entry in the Windows tab under in Version add Windows NT/2k/XP/2k3 from the drop box. Make the drive letter say F: then add entry and save.

When you reboot it should come up with the dual boot option of Vista and XP

Hope that helps!
