Hey, I recently finished building my own system...

I installed my Raptor as my Primary Master Drive with Windows on it, and now I am trying to install my second, 250gig data drive. I put it into the third SATA slot on the MoBo which is supposed to auto-set it to slave... the HD came with no jumpers... The Bios and Windows Device Manager recgonizes the disk, but it doesnt appear in "my computer", and I cant find out how to install, or partition it.

any help?

SATA type drives don't come with jumpers. That is something dealt with when installing eide type drives. If you have administrative access you go right into the Computer Management section in Administrative Tools found in the control panel. Once you open the CM look over to the column on the left side for the catagories seen there.

Under the storage catagory the third item is the Disk Management. That is where you want to be. It shows all hard drives installed on the system. You should spot the new drive right away. Simply right click on the correct drive listed to the right and choose the options to partition and format it there.

An effective alternative method for partitioning drives is the GPart 0.1h Linux partitioning tool. The Gnome Partition Editor available for burning to a cd-r with Windows is found at http://tucows.com/preview/8292 But you would still need to use the Disk Management to format the one or more partitions created by GPart. Give the DM a try there.
