How do I know if I have enough memory?

I have a 2000 mhz Hp compaq presario computer with pentium 4 and AMD2400 processer. I have 768 mb of ram also an e-geforce 6600 GT with 128 mb of ram on card. (and 450 watt power supply)
I still can not play Far Cry on high settings, do I need more memory or does anyone have any suggestions??? (kind of new to this whole gameing thing, thanks in advance!!)

not surprising you cant play it on high though, far cry is a very demanding game and will take a powerful machine to play it on high settings

Which is it? The only AMD processor with a 2400 model designation is the Athlon XP 2400, and no, you can't play games very well with that processor.

If you want to play FarCry on highest settings, you need a better video card and a better CPU.

yea, not to mention more ram. 768 is enough but not for high settings id bet.
build a new compie or settle for medium - low settings for now.
