How do I know what I need and don't need with this laptop?

I just recently bought an ASUS N56 laptop and don't know anything when it comes to knowing what programs I keep and don't keep from the start (bloatware). As of right now I can't watch YouTube videos because the video doesn't show at all but the audio still plays.

Click on "Control Panel"
On the top right corner, if it says "Category View", drop it down and select "Large Icons".
On the page that appears now, select "Programs and features", let the list populate,
and then give us the names of all the applications you have installed.
We cannot suggest which apps you could remove, unless we know which apps you have got pre-installed. Every computer, when it comes to pre-installed bloat, is different.
Plus, install the flash player like others above suggested, to fix the youtube bug. :-)

If I were you, I would get rid of the following:-
1>Asus Facelogon (i don't use face recognition to log in, if you do, leave this alone)
2>Asus Music Maker (if you are serious about making music, you will need professional software, this isn't any good)
3>Asus photo designer (If you are into editing photos, get adobe photoshop, or corel)
4>Asus photo manager (useless)
5>Asus Vibe 2 (useless)
6>Bing bar (useless)
7>All cyberlink stuff (if you don't use them. I personally don't like Cyberlink much, liked PowerDVD a long long long time back, but they suck now)
and
8>McAffee (assuming it's a trial version) and install a free antivirus like Avira or Avast.
