Hi! I need to mail a couple MP3s, 2 to be exact. I have hotmail, yahoo, and WMconnect(AOL) mail accounts. I tried to mail them by default but it says I have to run Microsoft office, which I don't have! Could anyone help me here? Thanks!

umm... i don't know if you'll get any help on this one... that could be considered copyright infringement and this site isn't that lenient on those sorts of things...

i would give this topic a half hour max before the mods close it down...

Not all MP3s are copyrighted. ;)

good point... but i was making an educated guess that he was trying to transfer copyrighted material :)...

And that is a good guess IMO but at the same time I would prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. :)

And have you tried zipping the files up before you try sending them?

Guys, yes, it's copyrighted, but I'm the owner. I have an underground record label. A fellow who owns a distro in Germany wants to sample one track each to determine whether he wants to distribute it or not. It would be best if I could do this on Yahoo since that's my fave provider.

try using your AOL acount with AIM, opening a direct connection. Only drawback is, they need to be logged on at exactly the same time.

I was only able to open photo files on WMconnect (this is related to AOL somehow since my IP is AOL). My WMconnect account is a real hassle. It may be the way I have the settings but I can't send HTMLs, and most forums that I join get deflected when I use my WMconnect account. A real pain in the ass.

I tried Yahoo help, first I got sent to some anti-spam warning message, it's not spam, this guy wants to hear these MP3s. Then I got this:

Click the "Attach Files" link located above the compose window.
Click the "Browse" button and select a file.
When you have selected a file, click the "Attach Files" button located towards the bottom of the page to attach it to your message.
You will then see a file attachment confirmation page that will allow you to remove an attachment, if needed, by clicking on the "Remove" link located to the right of the file.
Click on the "Done" button to attach the selected file(s) to your message
To add multiple attachments, repeat steps 2 and 3.

The problem is there is no "Attach Files" link above my compose button.

This would also solve another problem. Some other distros want me to send them free CDs to see if they "like it". I'd rather send them MP3 samples and pictures of the CDs, and save my money. Then they either take it or leave it.

I think I got it with my hotmail account. It seems to be working.

About youtube and other online music and video sources, I can't use them, my connection speed is dial-up modem and it's too slow.

well this is through email right?

there should be an attach button when u are composing an email. its on the tool bar for hotmail where "send" and stuff are.

for yahoo, its right above the message box.

btw: ur an underground artist right? dont u have a music page? they can just stream it offa there.

well, that gonna be hard for you, dial up connection and then, email services often can not send a file more than 10 MB.
i think the best way for you is gmail
you are able to upload any thing (100MB)
and when you write an email just put the link there, like this:
http://alexandergre.googlepages.com/firefoxsiganim.gif (this is my sig)
if you want a gmail send a pm or just post it here so if some else got gmail can invite you

I came in here to recommend gmail but you already beat me to it! :D

I like your sig btw. The IE and firefox one.

we everyone loves google and gmail and google products, there is no doubt. (maybe not bill gates, yahoo)
how stupid, this is the best way, i should tell you first.
do like this:
open a gmail account,
download the Gmail drive http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/GMail-Drive-shell-extension-Download-15944.html
when you installed it, go to the gmail drive and upload your files.

your friend must also install the gmail drive.
he logins with the same user name and email as you.
then he can download the files.

i was doing this technology until i bought a USB drive 1GB to share files between school and home and my friends.
