How do I Monitor my CPU Temperature?

I'm right now building my own computer, and I'm wondering how I monitor my CPU temperature? Is there software I need to install? I'm going to be using Windows Vista Ultimate, so if that indicates any kind of software I need please let me know. Also, What is an average temperature for a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor?

Download Everest Ultimate Edition and you can check your computer sensor with that program.

mine is 25oC under water. when i push my computer hard it gets to maybe 45oC.

Sorry to butt in, but have you oc'd your Q9300 and if so, what kind of results? Thanks

Everest will only show 2 core temps with the trial version. You have to buy the program to get a reading on all 4 cores. You can also try speedfan and coretemp.

i haven't oc'd because I haven't gotten my parts yet and built my computer The shipment should be coming in sometime in the next two or three days ;-)
