how do i put 2 os on one computer?

well, the title says it all. i have just built a computer and it has a 500 gig eide drive and a 250 gig sata drive. i have windows installed on the eide drive and i want linux (ubuntu) on the sata. how do i do this? thanks.
 
Just install Ubuntu. Boot w/ the Ubuntu CD, and be sure to select the correct drive during setup. The installation should prompt you to install a bootloader, and then you can include the Windows drive. :D
 
thanks man im 12 and i just built this computer.... can i download it off the site? on to the other drive? then pick which one to boot on in bios?

No, no - you'll have to download the Ubuntu ISO from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

Then, you'll need to burn the image to a CD using a CD Writing program capable of burning ISOs - I prefer Magic ISO. You can download it and read a tutorial here: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-burnwin.htm

After you've burned your Ubuntu disc, you'll need to boot your computer from it and follow the on-screen directions.

I was about 12 when I started really getting into computers too - my first computer was a 386 laptop someone had ripped the screen off of and thrown away hooked up to a giant VGA monitor I got for free... hey, it worked.. :P
 
I'm also install 2 OS on this computer and it's ok. You should install Ubuntu inside the windows, then it will not resize the partition and make a new one. And it's also easy for you to uninstall cause all you have to do is go to control panel/add and remove program to do that.
when starting the computer, you will be asked to choose either Windows or Ubuntu. That's easy
 
I just used Partition Magic to set aside an allocated amount of space for another OS. It counts it as a Separate Drive. You can then install another OS to that Space, and when you start up your computer, it will give you the option of which OS you want to enter (Dual Boot)
