How do I remove things from my motherboard?

I've got a few expansion slots near the top of my computer. One of which has a TV hook-up I don't want/use. How do I go about removing it?

When you say a tv hook up are you talking about a coaxial port? Svideo? Component? And if you are talking about a port that is built into the mother board (If it is in the group of ports that run vertically down the back of your pc such as ps/2 and usb then its more than likely built in) then there is no way of removing it. If you don't want to use it then just dont. Its not doing any harm by just sitting there.

And if you are talking about a port on a expansion card then just take the card out?

Don't remove anything, leave it the way it is, that thing might be needed to work the whole motherboard, and if you remove something, you will have to buy a new one!

It's like cable hookups on the back of a TV. It's in an expansion slot, and it gets hot... you think I should keep it in?

If it's in an expansion slot then it is most likely a PCI card. Just open the case and check. If it is, feel free to remove it.

Well, that's the thing. I know that it's just an expansion, but am I just supposed to pull? I've never taken anything out of a computer. I don't see any screws, but I don't want to rip my motherboard in half :P
