how do i reset my laptop without a disc?

i want to reset my laptop to like when i first got it delete everything off the hard drive but i dont have a xp disc and i managed to do it before but i cant remember how? any ideas? i dont something like pressed a button when i turned it on but i cant remember which button

do you not have recovery disks and do you have a recovery partion built into it will be either d drive or may even be hidden partion

i found out how to do it
when i turned it on i had to press F10 repeatedly and then it takes me to menu to chose to reset it

Well my dad bought a Toshiba that didn't come with the install discs, why? Do HPs never come with them? (Just curious, as I've never bought one.)

Usually HP's always have restore partitions and don't use recovery cd's. Unless you request them after the fact.

If you accidentally lose the partition, many manufacturers can send you the restore disks - normally there is the P&P charge, plus the actual optical media (especially for companies like Acer, Advent and Gateway). If your under warranty, you may only have to pay P&P - if anything.
