I have my computer connected to the internet through a modem/router, now i have just setup another comp up next to mine an i want to use a Ethernet to connect it to my computer but i want it to be able to use the internet connection from my comp.
how do i do this?
i get a error when it trys to share my LAN#1 witch is my internet connection lan#2 is what i have connected the other comp to mine with.
if i try to manly try to share my connection it says error
ICS can't be enabled.
a LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is requied for automatic IP addressing

You would need 2 network adapters in your pc in order to share it out to another pc. Does your modem/router only have 1 lan port? You should get a router that has 4 lan ports, a lot easier sharing internet off of a router then off another pc. You would have to run the network setup wizard on both computers if you are gonna share it from one PC.

ok the router has 4 lan ports but my Ethernet isnt long enough thats why i want to do it through my comp.
an yes i have 2 network adapters in my comp

Get a longer ethernet cable, much easier than trying to setup Internet Connection Sharing(ICS),

My problem is it says a LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is requied for automatic IP addressing.
the IP it wantsa to go to is 192.168.0.1 an im sure thats not in use by anything else

That means that one of the computers is set to that ip address. You need to delete those settings and just the router assign each client an ip address.

Go to the network connection icon and right click, click on properties. double click on internet protocol(tcp/ip). Make sure both machines say obtain IP address automatically. Other than that, without seeing your machine, i don't know what else to tell you to do. Something already has that ip address assigned. You might want to try accessing the router and assign ip addresses manually and turn off dhcp.

If you are going from PC to PC, you need a crossover cable. Use regular ethernet cable everywhere else.
