How do I stop a company from taking over my computer?

Looking at your ARN file, you indeed have a LogMeIn Rescue service installed and it launches with Win login. This should be an easy fix. Just go into the programs under the control panel and remove anything related to LogMeIn. Or better yet, use Revouninstalller.

After you do this scan the computer with HerdProtect portable just for the hell of it. I didn't see anything suspicious in the ARN file, but it wouldn't hurt. You may need to run HerdProtect twice. HerdProtect uses 68 anti-virus engines.

Do you think it would be easier just to reload Windows?

And if so, how do I backup my copy of Microsoft Office? Because I got that second hand.

No, when all you have to do is go into your programs under the control panel and uninstall LogMeIn. It's that simple. If LogMeIn isn't listed then try the Tool section of Ccleaner or use Revo Uninstaller. If all that then fails you will want to reinstall Windows, but I doubt it.
