How do I test PSU

Hi.
I'm wondering if there's a way to figure out whether PSU is working properly or not. I have an Antec 450W PSU that I've never used. This PSu doesn't have any LED to see if it works just by plugging. What should I do to check out if it works or not>
Thanks.

Those lights really tell you nothing about the integrity of a PSU. Honestly there's not much of a way to really check it, unless you have tools to check its voltages and amps. I mean a power supply can put out perfect voltages but not enough amps. Or it can power up without a computer(you can short two plugs in the ATX adapter) yet not power a computer...

you could hook it to a mother board and them and see if it gives it power...

There is a freeware program called CPU-Z which you can use to check both PSU temps and votages.

Edit: My bad, it's not actually installed into a PC yet.....duh :D
