how do I use bittorrent on DSL?

I recently got DSL 3Mbps and I am using a Belkin G router (my computer is wired). When I set up my network, I tried to use Bit Torrent, but It started downloading at 2K and then said "Download may be slow- probably firewalled/NATed." Does anyone know how I can get Bittorrent to work or if a diffrent torrent client will work?
 
I have Azureus torrent client and i sometimes get that message about it maybe being NAT problems or behind a firewall, this only happens if i have a rubbish source that im downlaoding from... if you get a good enough source it doesnt say anything like that, perhaps you were downloading from a rubbish source...?? try a different client, like Azureus, and then try tod ownload what ever it was again from differnt sources. Assuming its all leagal of course, this forum doe not support or endorse illegal downlaoding
