How Do The Professionals Remove Viruses From Infected Computer?

Curious about how the professionals remove viruses from badly infected computers? Obviously they cant use the anti-virus program that is installed on the infected computer and they just can't format every computer they run into, so what do the pros do? What do they use?

They may use DOS softwares, use the Recover Console, the System Restore using the Safe Mode... stuff like that is the basis.

im no pro but i've once revived a seriously infected laptop.norton was disabled,IE and media player corrupted and hell, a lot of missing dll files causing windows to reboot at any given time (even after logon)

its extremely easy once you get the hang of it. you only need to have the right tools

current back up methods and current software/OS images. Little down time, and it takes care of the problem immidately. I can have you back up and running exactly how you were in about 10 minutes.

This would require a complete backup and imaging solution though, but that is how I do it professionally.

Cant beat good old safe mode, unless windows is corrupt. Then a good bootable tool CD is the way- running in DOS.
