J jeamourt3 New Member Feb 1, 2006 #1 i installed 2 os WINDOW Xp pro cuz the old one is missing a system file ^how do u recover that? but anyways i intalled another windowxp pro in the same harddrive and during the boot , it ask me to pick a os how do i skip that and always boot from the new one!?!?!?

The_Other_One VIP Member Feb 1, 2006 #2 As they are freash installs(correct) the best/easiest thing to do would probably be to format the harddrive and just start over. You should get that option during the windows install.

The_Other_One VIP Member Feb 1, 2006 #5 Search google for boot.ini. I beleive that's the file that has the boot options when your machine first loads.
