How do u reinstall windows xp?

My computer keeps freezing every few minutes and i have to re start it. I think it is becuase a system32 file is missing on the hard drive. So i am sure i want to re-install windows becuase rebooting didnt help.

CAn some one PLEASe PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to reinstall windows. I have got the recovery disc for windows. Can someone please send me some instructions or links to help me i am desperate.

Try this.
-Backup to any important files to CD or DVD first.
-Put your restore CD in the drive and restart the PC into the BIOS setup (press F2 or DEL) while the PC boots.
-In BIOS change the BOOT Sequence/Order to Boot from the CD drive then the C drive.
-Save the settings (F10) and exit BIOS.
-The PC should then restart. The restore program should then start and you'll prob be prompted to make fresh install or a repair.
From there you'll be given prompts that you can follow.
