do you mean the external power supply with connector , or inside the Laptop? If you're talking internally, then you can't change the power supply as such, however if you mean that the female plug you connect to has stopped working then this usually means that the pins have broken away from the mobo(a very common laptop fault) and is a "bugger" to rectify-but can be done!!!
please give more details![]()
just to clarify... you mean the female connector visible from the outside of the laptop on the back of the laptop.(the bugger to change one)
OR....
The male connector that plugs into the connector on the back of the laptop??(the easy way out)

Well if it's the MALE end(that plugs into the back of laptop) then just change mains adaptor, however... if it's the FEMALE end that is in the back of the laptop connected to the motherboard, then usually it involves removing virtually EVERY part of the laptop-
and then you have to solder a new female jack plug to the motherboard(or resolder the old one) without damaging the other motherboard componants through heat transfer and then put it all back together before testing it again!!
- hard drive
- cd/dvd rom drive
- keyboard
- motherboard
- heat transfer plate etc etc
A long winded job which I don't like to do and neither do any PC repair shops in my area. I would rather recommend a specialist company and lose the bussiness than spend hours on a job for very little profit and a whole lot of hassle!!!!
Let's hope it's the male end eh ??
Not sure if this will be considered spam or what not but I found a site that apparently repairs laptops power jack plugs, LOOK HERE for an idea of price(it's not so much the parts , it's the labour to do it) also see this you tube vid
any decent hardware/electrical componant shop, where abouts are you?(globally)
Never mind I found one on Ebay.
Thanks for the help!
I am looking for one too. Can you tell me which supplier you acquired your unit?![]()
