Here's the problem.

I've recently formatted c: and re-installed windows 98se on my computer. Unfortunately, now the graphics are very poor. I can't change the resolution from 640x480. I have reason to believe that this is because the computer's running on its in built graphics. when i look in devices there is an unknown PCI card, which I think is the 8mb cirrus logic cl-gd5465-hc-c sitting in the computer.

I've searched and searched the internet for drivers for this (sites such as driverguide etc.), and downloaded countless numbers of potential drivers. Unfortunately when i download them, unzip them and place them in a certain file > then try to install them, by identifying the specific file as the location for the driver for the nknown PCI card, it doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong?
Can anyone help me?

By the way, none of the drivers I've downloaded contain installation wizards, or a setup.exe program or such as you would expect to find.

My modem driver is like this, no setup.exe. What I do is put a copy of the driver on my Desktop. Then I have to go to device manager and update the driver; when it asks if Windows should search for the file, I choose "No", and then navigate to the Desktop folder where the driver is stored and choose the file from within that folder. Windows may tell you what driver it is looking for; that's the one within the driver folder you should try to use.
