I'm sure this question has been asked before here, but I need help. I'm some-what new at building computers. Today I bought an AMD 3000+ processor that had no heatsink or fan included. So I also bought some thermal paste and a heatsink and fan. Now I want to put it all together. I know how to put the processor on the board and all, but the whole thermal paste thing confuses me. On the bottom of the heatsink that I bought, there is an extremely thin layer of (what I think is) thermal paste (it's grayish). But I was told that I need to apply the thermal paste that I bought seperatally. So now I'm lost. The CPU I bought didn't have any instructions with it. I also heard that I should put some thermal paste on and rotate the heatsink after putting it on...?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
