Pick the platform you want and the motherboard that has the features you want.
CPU matches CPU socket and supported list from motherboard.
RAM matches standard specified by CPU/Motherboard, ideally is listed on QVL compatibility list.
GPU matches intended expansion interface (PCI-Express).
HDD/SSD matches intended interface (M.2 or SATA).
PSU of sufficient wattage to support component choices.
Case that matches or exceeds the form factor of the motherboard you chose. Extra consideration if you have a super long GPU or a tall tower CPU cooler which can influence the case choice.
