How do you know what upgrades you can make

Well I'm just curious as to how I can figure out what updates I can make to my computer without anymore questions then this one?
 
If your using vista you can check the system resource monitor and watch what is used most. Post your specs and we can prob tell you what your bottle necks are. Remember you can spend a bunch of money on upgrades but if your OS is not tweaked or not running right then all those upgrades get you no where!!

I want to upgrade my memory to a 2gig, im currently running a 512 (scoff)
I want to upgrade my graphics card from intergrated to an nvidia or ati

some cheap upgrades i found that i think might work

the ram is great, but unfortunetely i dont think that you will be able to run the video card. make certain you have pci-express lanes on your computer, they look something like this:

the blue and the large black one are both PCI-E, and the bottom ones are normal pci. now if you just have pci, there is not too much we can do, but i can suggest a video card that would work, that you might be happy with.
 
You only have a AGP slot. Heres your motherboards spec.
