How do you manage your cables?

The time for me to move my computer has come, and where it's currently resting the cables look horrific, they're all over the place and you can see all of them even those little hub things for monitors etc.

So i was just wondering how everyone else manages their cables? (Both in and around your computer.)

I think we'll add a poll a little later as I'm not sure what to put as the options for now.

Heehe.....know what ya mean. i have two computers at my table. dual montiors, printer, router, speakers, nikon cool scan, flat bed scanner and more. the problem was at the floor. popped the molding and started from there. bought new covers brought all cat 5 up, coax, etc. the cat 5 to table from floor that is sitting on another table in my computer room rerouted. punched a 1 in hole, bought a blank cover and drilled 1" hole. those cable came up and made pretty with wire tys and wire ty stickers. tight againt the wall. its the rest at looks like sheet. 2 ups , 3 power strips. its against the wall and can't see unless you look. its neat though.
good luck.
another adventure and the best i could do. one thing though. someplace like best-buy sells plastic strips to hide wire. rectangular or or. round is nice. what size ya need. run all wire from floor to plastic molding then pull the strip and sticks to the wall. this is neat. my table is 11 ft long. its everything running from the hardware to the other computers that looks like sheet.

i'll watch. im talking to much already. drinking beer.

I pretty much just let them be. Cables are like their own ecosystem, growing around each other, intertangling, and I'm pretty sure they even reproduce. Occasionally though they get out of hand, and I'll have the thin the herd.

My mess comes if i start disconnecting cables and don't have a clue which cable goes to what device. i started marking at both ends for reference.

Zip ties are the best imo, if your cables are not sleeved, get a sleeving kit(Jab-tech sells them for around $6 plus shipping).

Thanks everyone.

Try xoxide, I'm pretty sure they ship to Canada.

And also, zip ties along with cable anchors work wonders :).

You could try jab-tech, could always just shoot the guy there an email, see if he will ship to canada. they are my favorite site for cooling related products. I once had an order processed in like 10 minutes, and shipped in 30 minutes:

label

I can't imagine 10 replies but I have been doing this for 20 years professionally and all you need is a label, and a pen. Label every wire unless it's interchangeable, DC power supplies, and so forth. It takes a long time but just do one peace at a time and plan on spending some time one it. The one thing you don't want it to look at something and say what wire goes in this and what's it for. I speak from experience. Patrice and organization and of course experience making mistakes. Practice makes perfect.
