How do you overclock?

STrange hold that guide isn't too Specific I think the guy wants to know exactly rwhat you like how to acess the Bios and what to open and stuff and when you start up computer what do you press to change the voltages on your cpu and Clock speed. I dont know how to do a permanet overclock myself so i cant even help AiC

Go into bios, change FSB, around 5-10Mhz at a time... and slowly overclock it until you get your maxFSB or speed. If it starts crashing too much raise your voltage ALITTLE. If you jump too much say goodbye to yuor CPU. I dont not know much... but if your computer doesnt let you overclock... theres things like SoftFSB that changes your FSB manually without restarting... when yuo overclock and raise voltages a good heatsink and fan, and good thermal paste will help. overclocking also puts strain on the power supply, so get a trusted one that wont die out. Overclocking also depends on your hardware, if you have a stick of pc2100 RAM and pc2700 ram, the pc2700 ram is going to run at the pc2100 ram's speed, so it will reduce your overclockng abilities.

Also: overclocking your CPU or graphics card?

I wanna try my CPU first as I heard the graphics card is harder.......I have a

AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 2.20 Ghz

and a

Radeon 9800 PRO Series 512MB

don't know how hard these are to overclock but still wanna try without ruining them. BTW all I have is a crappy stock HP Pavilion case that these are in, no added cooling fans or anything.

oscar how to you acess your bios?

it all depends on your computer. on my computer you press DELETE, on some others F1 or something. when booting it should tell you.

overclocking isnt that bad actually, i have a p4 2.8Ghz i overclocked, its pretty safe. just dont raise your voltage. just overclock until it doesnt boot, then reset the bios (if you need to do this just ask me) and enter your maximum overclock before it blacked out. if yuo want to go farther raise the voltage (if your BIOS lets yuo)

So I got to my BIOS but couldn't change anything to due with the CPU.

I did see that I'm "SOL" if I have an HP so I guess I can't OC.
