Hey guys,

I need to back up my PC and because i dont have an external HDD i cant do it the easy way. so im going to just transfer it all to my two other computers..

anyway, how would i go about networking all three of them together so that i can transfer all my stuff to the backup computers

2 of the computers (including the one I am backing up) Are Vista, and the other one is XP home

You would have to set up a home network, so in network settings you will have to enable sharing. All these computers must be connected to the internet.(im on linux atm so i cant do the tabs.:o)

Once they are all enabled, then you can share them, via the "public" folders. Then you can drag and drop then into the multiple folders in the public section.(thats the easiest way.)

This is for the 2 vista computers you have to do something else with xp, i havent used it in years tho, cant help you on that man.

well they do not have to be connected to the internet, but to local network, ie via lan (ad-hoc) or wires, but internet could do fine too, go to option of the folder you want to make public or drive, and set it to sharing, it should work.

I have sharing at home, but it is set a permanent thing, but it works on similar principles.
