short out the headers on the motherboard, the ones marked (PWR_SW) will do the trick, with anything metal, screwdrier, paperclip etc...

the system that allows motherboards to fit into cases is pre-defined and standardized in a system called ATX. ATX also defines how your power button connects and all that jazz. As long as you have an ATX type board and an ATX type case, your good.

in general, power buttons on cases with work with any board. As long as it is an ATX case with and ATX board, you are good to go. Honestly, just try connecting it. If it doesn't work, than too bad :)

well i got a sony pc right now. you can see it at my signature.. is that a atx case??

sorry i have no idea how to check if it is an atx case or not can you please help me identify it?

thanks.

ASUS-P5N32-E-SLI -> Fantastic board...thats the one I'm planning on getting for my computer

It's an ATX board....my god Sony people are retarded "Form Factor: Tower"....Tower is not a form factor.

I'm willing to bet that it's an ATX case though, so it should go well with the board mentioned above
