How does recovery to earlier date work?

In windows 10, I can go to control panel and manually store a current setting. But isn't it defeating the purpose? I thought that in previous versions of windows, it automatically backup the system settings at a certain intervals.

Did they take that away from Windows 10?

How do I make it AUTOMATICALLY save the system setting in regular intervals?
It doesn't work like that. It automatically creates a restore point before doing Windows updates or before installing software.

If you want to change a setting and then have a restore point available, you need to manually create the restore point.

My FF was updated a couple of days ago and I was having some problem with it. I was hoping that I could find a restore point prior to the FF update to restore, and none was there.

Just uninstall Firefox and install the last version that worked for you from OldVersion.com or somewhere else.
