How does this custom-built PC fare?

I start college for Game and Simulation Programming, and need this computer to be current for the four year term, or at least as long as possible. Do these specs match up for the future demand of graphics processing, etc for my class? I went through ibuypower.com for the build

I would strongly suggest not going with the 8800GTS 640MB, that card is over 2 years old already. Also I would get 2x 2GB of DDR-800, not 4x 1GB. Have you looked at the new Core i7's?

How much is this going to cost?

yes, ati hd 4870 512MB pci express 16x about $243
the 1GB about $305 and X2 DDR5 2GB about $503
no GTX 260
SORRY, FOUND GTX260 896MB $288
AND GTX 280 1 GB $476

Either the 4870 or GTX 260 would be the best choice. If you want to run two cards in SLI later on then go with the GTX 260.
