How does this look for a first timer?

Hi everyone, this is my first time building a computer, or really doing much of anything with computers at all, and was wondering what you all thought of this list of parts? Please, all feedback is wanted, but don't be too harsh if something is blatantly wrong, I have no experience with this at all.

I intend to build this at some point in the summer, it will be used for for general computing, I do quite a few videos/video editing, along with photo editing, so do you think I should go for a bigger hard drive? Can I upgrade later on, or is this complicated? I may use this for some *light* gaming, nothing very demanding (minecraft is the only game that I play on my PC right now...).

Everything you got there is good to go, but...I would like to suggest another MoBo, and change that i5 2500, to a i5 2500k. The i5 2500k offers an unlocked CPU so you can OC far beyond the non K version, for only a few bucks more. For the MoBo, the one I recommended would offer you alot more than the intel board for $6 bucks more. Other than that, your good to go!

Hoped I helped, GL.

Thanks for the reply, I think that MoBo/processor combo is better than what I had, I will change it to that, any other suggestions anyone?

I thought when I read the title "How does this look for a first timer?" that you had a generic PSU, and would've had to recommend a better one. Most noobs(not saying you are) to the computer building world often list low qulity PSU's,and dont know which brand is better than others, but you didnt, seasonic is a very known and respected brand.

Your good to go my friend!

I would spend the extra and get this board instead of the ASRock http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131773 it's got loads of features and probably a better brand than ASRock. It costs a bit more though.

ASRock is ASUS, ASUS is ASRock. ASRock gots plenty of outstanding boards, and they always hit the performance/features/price ratio on the nose.

OP, if you want to take a closer look at each board, to see which offers more/better features for the money, I'll list the official site/s of each to get a better comparison.

ASRock- http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Z68 Extreme3 Gen3&cat=Specifications

ASUS- http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68V_LE/#specifications

Even though ASRock is the cheaper end of ASUS's line, in this situation(P8Z68-V LE vs ASRock Z68 Extreme3), I believe that the ASRock offers better features and build quality, at a cheaper price.

Would recommend a AMD 6850 for the graphics card. Same price, better performance.

Thanks, will do.

Thanks for all the other suggestions,

To be honest, I think I will stick with the ASRock MoBo, the features that I will be using seem comparable, and I think the ASRock will be fine.

Here is the updated list:
