How exactly do you overclock a CPU??

I just bought a IBM thinkpad, and I am wondering how to overclock it. I am not concerned with it lasting, as i am only using it as a toy to learn on.

Its got 2gb ram Ati Raedon X300, 1.866 GHZ pentium M processor and Xp sp2.

go into the bios and find something about cpu clock speeds or fsb clock speeds, set it to manual, and increase the values. Though it's very possible that the bios won't let you

ok, the CPU speed is locked in the BIOS. Is there any thing else that can be done??

you'll need to use software, something like clockgen. here's a quick 2 second google search to get you started...

For obvious reasons, laptops are not designed to be overclocked, so that's why all those options are disabled/locked in the BIOS.
