Well, we just got the equipment for our new highspeed internet, and it is a flat panel transmitter, and it has an ethernet cable coming from it, but it is only 100feet, my question is, can i splice into the cable and stetch it out to lets say 200 feet?

would it lose any signal strenth?

Don't quote me on this;)

I think, if it's a twisted pair then it max's out at about 100 metres. The limitation is down to timings.

That's correct, 100m, or 320ft is the absolute max to stretch Cat5. Usually they keep it down to 90m at most.

If you want to go over that, you'll have to put some kind of repeater in between the cables. Any type of hub, switch, or router should work.
