Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900

this is for dell's xps m140 model which i ordered and i wanted to know how the video was going to be or if i needed to upgrade it right away

Whatever it is, its integrated and is stealing your system RAM. Installing a separate card will, by having memory for itself, actually speed up your system a little bit. I looked it up and this is what it said:

We would like to offer you a detailed analysis of the new Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 processor, which is integrated into the recently announced Intel 915G Express chipset. The launch of this solution led to a true revolution in the integrated graphics market: GMA 900 is the first integrated graphics processor with hardware DirectX 9 shaders support.

ya integrated usually do suck and plus its Intel wat do they kno about graphics and gaming? when AMD is better at gaming and graphics for gaming should be kept to nvidia and ati right?
you should of asked here b4 buying, now you just have wasted money, unless you can cancel the order.
Should of gone w/ an alienware if you wanted a good gaming laptop. Dells xps's are a joke and trust me i have one and i regret buying it.

Also i doubt you could upgrade and add a graphics card. Its risking taking apart a laptop and putting a GPU that you dont kno if it will fit.

sry if this seems kinda mean, i dont mean to be..

ummm actually my friends got it and it aint that bad..for integrated anyways.....he plays world of warcraft with 40 % terrain distance and everything else on high and gets a consistant 30fps which isnt bad for integrated.....game looks decent too.

Well that would depend on what you are using the system for I suppose.

What are your opinions about the M140 for someone who doesn't do any gaming at all? I'm looking to purchase my first notebook, and would be using it for wordprocessing, internet and photoshop work.

I'd appreciate to hear what you think.

Anyone heard of Conroe? Lets keep the fanboyism to a minimum.

alienware = 2x/3x more $ than a dell... plus who buys a laptop for the purpose of gaming
