how hot is too hot for the north bridge?

yeah, and i think it's pretty lame how my graphics card goes right over it as well.
 
Over 65 I'd probably start worrying 57 should be fine as a lot of people report theres getting that hot especially when playing a game or something similar. Now if thats when you first turn it on idleing that might be high.

Thats imposible on this motherboard^^^

51 is still pretty hot but it should be fine. If your really worried just find a low profile sink and replace it.
 
Ouch

Mine has been at 70 Celsius since the start. I do have passive cooling and an active HSF is not really possible because of its bad positioning below the end of the graphics card. According to Gigabyte, the NF4 Ultra chipset can handle this temp just fine.

For people with videocard-NB issues, you can alleviate the problem by:
1. Move the VC to the other slot
2. Mount a 60x60x15 fan (i.e., AMD stock cooler) to the videocard on an angle :) When i get my digicam working i'll post a shot of what i mean if i remember
3. Getting something like an NV/ATi Silencer will help too

Ive got my NB fan (stock for now), on a fan controller and the only time i breach 50C is when i turn the fan to less than 15% or so and even then it maxes out at 59C (hehe accidentally disconnected the internal wiring to my fancontroller and left it encoding videos overnight ... actually the whole weekend lol)
