How is playing on 3D different?

I have never seen anything 3D on a screen. I did try a 3DS in a store ones. But I've read you need at least one hour for the eyes to adjust.

I don't go to the cinema either. So how is 3D different?

Basically it gives the illusion of 3D by presenting a slightly off-phase image for each eye. Pretty much a google question to be honest.

Yes, but do things pop out of the screen like a hologram? Does a number of displays matter?
