How is this setup?

OK for what? Gaming?

The processor is outdated, there's too much RAM and not sure about the graphics card if so.

I'd go i5 4670K, 8GB of RAM, and get a 7850.

Assuming you've got the motherboard, case, hard drive, optical drive etc sorted out?

What exact PSU are you looking at?
 
i have the pc already, was just looking for an upgrade.
i have everything i listed, except an i3-2120 and a 6750 1Gb
and i was looking to upgrade the processor and GPU to the ones I said
 
Ah right well if you want to upgrade your processor without your motherboard you'll need either an i5 2500K or a 3570K (i7 probably isn't worth the money). What exact motherboard have you got?

Graphics card wise, I'd get a 7850 or 7870.
 
You may or may not be able to upgrade the processor then. Some of those OEM boards are BIOS locked, preventing upgrades. :(
 
If you know the exact model no. of the Gateway system that the board came from then we might be able to see if Gateway have any information on CPU upgrades.
 
D: so id have to switch out the mother board and everything? what would i have to do to upgrade?
or what would you recommend?
 
You would have to get a new motherboard and since most OEM cases are a pain in the neck to fit motherboards into, I'd get a new case too.
