How is this video card?

terrible, 8500gt class, expect it to play most games with mediocre frame rates, and low resolution, probably decent for bluray playback, and vista aero
 
Really? I thought would be good because is only 400 away from 9800GT which is supposed to be good? It is a 1GB card.. :( No good really?...what about compared to 8800GT, 9600GT, and 8600GT? Still worse than those??

Higher in number the better only works when comparing same generation cards. For example, the 9800s are better than the 9400s. However, 8800 cards are better than 9400s. You can't cross generation compare.
 
What is your budget? That would help out if you are trying to find a deal on the net. For $100 you can find some 9800 models out there. I would say never buy a card that is less then $100.

What about the HD 4670, HD 4830, or 9600gso? You can find those under $100, and they are great cards.
 
You can get 8600GT cards, 8800GT even for under $100, they are very good cards, can play all modern games on medium settings no problem, some require more cooling than otehrs to get there, but still they can do it when tweaked enough
