How is this video Card?

Eh.. its an SE. And it doesnt have a cooling fan on it. With video cards you get what you pay for.

Yeah what do you want to use this card for? If you want nice gaming this isnt the card to get. SE and LE cards arnt recommended their performance is severly limited.

i have a similar question. im planning on getting a pretty good video card and i need to know if this is a good one it seems extremely cheap for 256mb. is this a good one and if not any suggestions

PS. is zipzoomfly a reliable site

the FX5200 series cards dont outperform the mx-440 line by much. there only advantage is slightly higher mhz and better dx9 support. my radeon 9200 is actaully faster than that card. its the #1 weakest gaming card i think...i wouldnt buy it personally. but zipzoomfly is reliable, alot of my friends order from them. for $88 you can find a better card im sure.

Look at this video card, it seems pretty cheap for 128mb.
Memory is cheap. That's why you'll find budget cards with 256MB on them :) The reason it's cheap is because the SE variant of the already-limited 9200 uses a 64bit memory connection rather than a 128/256 bit one found on more mainstream cards

I guess the 9800SE and 5700LE are two exceptions to that! :D

i would suggest something like an mx-440 if your on a $50 or less budget.
Look around you might even be able to score a GFX5200 (which outperforms most GF4MX cards as well as their 9200 counterparts)

The GFX5200 is the nVidia version of the Radeon9200. It's a budget card and is easily outperformed by even the crippled GF4MX-460. If you want a gaming card, that's not the card for you.

The (should) outperform the 440s but definitely not the 460s :)

do they overclock well? certain mx-440's with good coling will whoop the 5200...but thats with REALLY good cooling and a solid card. cheaper cards wont be able to win.

not a bad looing card. it will handle decent games but dont plan on overclocking it. i couldnt spend more then $50 on my card when i needed it...i know how u feel lol. free shipping too..i'd go with that one unless u can find a graeater deal.

Could I overclock the CPU if I had it? I'm planning on getting a XP Mobile 2500 to overclock.

if you have good ram and mobo you should have no probs (u need a good cooler too)...2.5ghz i imagine..more if u get a REALLY good cooler.

I meant at stock values but yes the GF4MX-4x0 and the GFX5200 can OC provided you deal with cooling :)

I want this card for gaming, so I found a new one based on what you guys said. Looks pretty nice to me. (I don't have a large budget at all)
Good card, just dont expect to play UT2004 or something with settings at max :)

If you're getting an nForce2 board OCing is fairly easy however for Via chipsets it's a bit more limited

what (good) card would you reccomend for that price range?
Realistically only the 9200 and 5200 are viable competitors in that price bracket .... now you could try hunting down a GeForce3Ti500 and OC the hell out of that but i dunno (GF3Ti500 can handle 800x600 all sets to max in UT2004 just as a reference)

Most of the time. I will still argue to say that a overseas manufactured board(sapphire board ATI Chipset) is the same as a manufacturer of the chipset Board. IE..ATI board with ATI Chipset.
But yes it is quite true. You get what you payfor chipset wise.

I forgot to mention anything about the card. :P

It would be fine if you just want to do casual gaming and multimedia work. it's a little outdated. I would personally go for something more new.
