Its alright, but try to choose something less expensive than that for college, i mean unless you are planning on playing PC games, and watching HD films and such, still there are cheaper PC's for that price, with similar specs, unless the you are buying it for the name.

I'm not a huge fan of the VAIO. I mean, their good machines, but with Sony is seems like you pay a lot just for the brand name. you could probably find a comparable Acer for cheaper.
