How many people here fix computers for a living?

I have a friend who's father owns a computer shop. Currently, they are living paycheck to paycheck, and are having a pretty hard time keeping above water.

i can see why, there re computer giants out there, it isnt really a valid market for a small time shop... as for me, i dont charge anything, i think im like most other people here, most "customers" will offer to pay you something, which of course courtesy kicks in, you decline the first time, then if they offer it again you acccept. Thats how it works for me

oh and its usualy like £20-30 for doing stuff like clearing an old PC out from viruses or adding a HDD and some RAM in, if i get commisioned to build a system i dont tell them the actual price of the parts. You just tell them the specs of the box and the FINAL price, that includes your own charges, in the past i've added up to £70, its usually around £50 though. I build on average 1 system every 2-3months, and im fixing PC's probably about 1 every week...
