I got this idea after helping my room mate with his laptop. He got it just before starting college this semester, so everything on it was fresh. He had 75 freakin processes running!!!

OK, so what do you guys have on average. If you need help( ) press Ctrl-Alt-Del and look at the bottom bar. To the left you should see "Processes: xx"

Just for the records, I have 33 running on my desktop, and dad has 60 running on his!

I have 48, seems quiete a lot, was gonna print screen them but too many list goes off the screen.

4 svchost - that goood?

why the hell do i have 54 running?
only use mine basicly for ebay films and music oh and here!!!

i had a quick look at the list before and there was a process for "ipod" in the list? i dont even have one or want one....

just makes you wonder how much crap is running on my pc

I use selective startup in the msconfig utilty to disable some startups. Otherwise the number would be closer to 40. A program can easily have several processes running at the same time. That will bring up the number.

35-36 and thats mine tweaked. well tweaked a little.

Yea I do, and all sounds too, I have alot of things disabled and modified, from visuals I only have "Show window contents while dragging" and "Show translucent selection rectange", I mean, why are all those sounds and visuals necessery, it only sucks up resources.

On my desktop I used to have 25 processes running tweaked, but now I've got 43 processes.
I upgraded my Ram to a total of 2GB and decided to have my GPU and Sound Card softwares running enhancements. With all of that and a few other things, I'm only using 10% of my RAM.
So, why be greedy and tweak with all that space?
