I have 4 ddr2 sticks in my computer right now but my friend said vista 32 home edition will only use 3 of them... yet it shows all 4 of them when i check my pc specs, so is he right? is one stick just sitting in my rig doing nothing?

jeezus this is takin sooo long to post..!!! again!

It isnt that it only uses three sticks. A 32bit OS can only recognize something like 3.2 G of RAM. It just so happens that each of your sticks is 1G. If your sticks were all 512MB then you would have all 4 sticks working fine and 2G of RAM. If you had vista 64 then you would have all 4Gs.

Yeah vista 32 as of service pack 1 will now report that you have the correct amount if you have 4gb+ (before it said 3.2gb) but it still wont use it all

To use the ful 4gb or more, you need vista x64 bit and a 64 bit CPU
