how many times can XP be installed???

No, I activated it automatically more than 10 before I had to start calling Microsoft. I'm well over 30 now and they're still activating it.
 
ok, so now that i am going to build a new PC for my mom to replace the one i just put xp on(purchased), can i not just re=use that copy of windows xp home again? i would think you could activate it as many times as you want given the activations are in a reasonable time frame....

hmm... i have the corporate edition of XP Pro SP2 (bless college) and all i need to do is make sure i put the college acronym in the "Organization" heading and the install will work fine for unlimited amount of times... but if i don't, the install won't go through...

and i've reinstalled my OEM Home version (came with my laptop) on my parent's computer multiple times after viruses eat the system alive (a reason to keep you virus scan and firewall up-to-date :))...
